A pop-up tent is an easy-to-set-up structure for temporary protection, and pop-up canopies, or EZ up canopies, can be used at a flea market and other locations.

When an outdoor flea market is put together, the event could be canceled because of rain. But if the flea market is rain or shine, you will need to protect the items you’re selling, be it clothes, furniture, books, or assorted small items. For some items, such as dishes, the rain won’t be as detrimental as it is to clothes or furniture, which could become soaked and warp the wood and bleed the fabric.

A canopy, particularly a pop-up or EZ up canopy, can be stored easily and quickly opened to protect your investments. A pop-up canopy is small enough to be kept in the back of a car or at a flea market booth and then assembled in case of an emergency. The primary benefit of a pop-up canopy is that it needs only one person to assemble it. As pop-up canopies are fairly common quick shelters, you might even have one at home that you have used for a backyard party or a family event at a beach. If not, most canopy dealers carry several types of pop-up canopies.

A pop-up canopy is constructed of an aluminum frame and a polyester or vinyl canopy. The roof is usually peaked for the rain to run off. In terms of setting up a pop-up canopy, no additional tools or parts are needed. While a permanent canopy like a portable garage will need to stay in place for months at a time, a pop-up canopy simply needs to go up and come down in a day. However, when setting up a pop-up canopy at a flea market, particularly if the flea market is set up on blacktop or asphalt, additional sandbags will be needed to keep the canopy in place. But if the flea market is outdoors on a dirt field, the pop-up canopy won’t need to be held in place with sandbags.
